The Black Madonna
The Spiritual understanding of the Black Madonna is extremely complex. At its heart, of course, there is a deep mystery: That to heal the most difficult things in life, you need to be able to go deep into the darkness, the darkness of our shadows. The pure Lady of Grace, the Madonna, the Queen of Heaven, in her black form can go to places, the places where even Angels fear to tread.
This is why I feel, the healing energies of La Moreneta, are so powerful.
Fools rush in where Angels fear to tread is from an essay by Alexander Pope - the idea is that only a fool would go into the places that Healing Angels can't go. A kind of mission for a pure fool - or Parsifal who made the journey to Monsalvat (Montserrat) to heal the wound of the King - King Amfortas, the Grail King.

La Moreneta or the little Dark One. (More = Moor or Dark One, Neta = Little), is the local name for Our Lady of Montserrat. The statue is protected by a glass cover, with a little hole cut out, so that it is poissble to touch the orb that the Madonna holds in her right hand. The Madonna is crowned, for me, this portrays Mother Mary, Queen of Heaven. This is one of the most powerful aspects of the Divine Feminine. The orb could be this planet and also a marker of her regal status. On her lap is the Christ child, who mis alos crowned. The whole composition form me is stunningly beautiful.
